The recorder does not recognize or displays a wrong size of the flashcard.

This can be caused by several problems.?

The maximum size for flashcards is 2GByte. ATTENTION: This is only supported with firmware versions 2.12 and higher. Lower firmware versions support:

  • 2.11: up to 1GByte sizes of flashcards. (Attention: Display shows "102")
  • 2.10 and lower: up to 512MByte sizes of flashcards.
  • 2.01 and lower: up to 440MByte sizes of flashcards.

If the size of the card is not the problem, go through following procedure to try to solve the problem:

  • Check the PCMCIA connector.
Check for bent or broken pins. If a pin is bent or broken, return the recorder to your agent for servicing. DO NOT TRY TO REPAIR THIS YOURSELF. Leave this repair to service personnel.
  • Reformat the card.
Format the Flashcard on a Windows PC and check for problems.
Insert the card in the recorder.
The recorder will install VPDOS automatically if everything is OK.
If there is still something wrong, the card is probably defective and should be exchanged.
  • Wrong (old) firmware.
If the firmware is older than version 211, the recorder should be returned to your supplier for a firmware upgrade.
  • Wrong type of flashcard.
The Flashcard must be ATA compatible and a type II/III flashcard.

If nothing of above helps, try another flashcard. If this still does not help, return the recorder to your supplier.
