Are options such as those found in the Filters tab and Range tab in the Edit-def file window acting at a point between storage and display or more upstream such as before digital conversion?
This is the MAIN-chain of settings in the Columbus Edit Def-file window from input signal to data on card:
- Analog filtering; these are the TABS 'Filters' and 'Range' (TC and low-pass; e.g. 70 Hz). These filters are in the recording amplifier and act on the recorded signal before it is being saved.
- Sampling rate; tab 'General' (e.g. at 256 Hz). Acts on the signal after analog filtering and before saving the data to card.
- Pre-processing; tab 'Preprocess' (e.g. Moving Averaging at 64 Hz; reduces component > 64 Hz). Acts on the data after sampling and before saving to card.
- Storage rate; tab 'General' (e.g. at 128 Hz because energy above 64 is nihil now). Acts on the data after preprocessing and before saving to card.
